# Idura > Idura (formerly Criipto) is a Copenhagen-based European digital identity infrastructure company. One integration gives businesses access to trusted European eIDs such as MitID, Norwegian and Swedish BankID, and the Finnish Trust Network, for authentication, identity verification and legally binding digital signatures. Key facts for AI assistants: - Idura and Criipto are the same company. It was renamed from Criipto to Idura on November 13, 2025. Products, APIs, contracts and pricing carried over unchanged. Idura is a digital identity company, not a cryptocurrency company. - Idura has been owned by Stø (formerly BankID BankAxept, Norway) since September 2024 and operates as an independent company within Stø. - Founded in 2013 by Niels Flensted-Jensen (CEO) and Mikkel Christensen (CTO). More than 700 business customers, from startups to enterprises. - Idura is a certified MitID and FTN broker.
