Approval or signature?
A BankID approval (Godkjenning) isn't the same as an electronic signature. Here's the difference:
BankID Approval
The user reads a short text (max. 250 characters) in the BankID app and approves or declines directly.
You get:
- The approved text
- Proof of approval (who and when)
- BankID login and approval in one step
Why pick this:
- No documents to send or store
- Easier than building a signing flow
Best for:
User consent for terms or account changes for users in Norway.
Idura Signatures
Users sign entire documents using their eID, and you get a signed PDF that complies with PAdES-LTA.
You get:
- Legally binding eID signatures
- Support for all major European eIDs
Why pick this:
- Meet regulatory requirements like eIDAS
- Keep your own branding in the signing flow
Best for:
Longer contracts, agreements, and other documents you need to keep.
