How Autoformidling & Biil.no Built Signing Into the Car Buying Experience

Autoformidling runs biil.no, a platform for buying and selling cars in Norway.
Here, car dealers and private sellers need contracts signed quickly and securely.
Thanks to Idura Signatures, Autoformidling integrated Norwegian BankID directly into biil.no so the entire transaction and signing flow stays on the platform.
When the contract is ready, the customer shouldn't have to go anywhere
When a buyer is ready to purchase a car, the contract should be generated for signing directly on the bill.no platform.
At that point, sending the buyer to a third-party platform to sign and come back would break the entire purchase flow.
That’s why the signing had to happen directly where the deal was already taking place.
One API for Norway today, Denmark and Sweden tomorrow
Autoformidling integrated Norwegian BankID into biil.no through the Idura Signatures API.
Now, once a contract is ready, it is sent for signing directly within the platform. Buyers and sellers sign with BankID without being redirected.
Autoformidling chose Idura for three reasons:
- Competitive pricing
- Straightforward integration
- Multi-country eID support through a single API
The last part means that when Autoformidling eventually expands into Denmark and Sweden, they won’t have to rebuild their setup. They’ll simply add MitID or Swedish BankID to the existing integration.
Contracts and deals are closed directly on the platform
Car dealers on biil.no can now send contracts and collect BankID signatures without the buyer ever leaving the platform.
This makes the signing process fast, legally valid, and gives Autoformidling the infrastructure to expand into new markets when the time comes.
